bovines...

English version

A leader of visual arts classes, a teacher of decorative painting, and, most importantly, a creative artist in a variety of techniques, Agnès DU MONT ANIS has come to understand that natural talent is not enough to become a convincing and successful artist, and that first of all she had to persevere in discovering and gaining knowledge of different techniques and materials. For example, her red-chalk nudes are full of charm and harmony, revealing qualities and assets that the artist has made full use of in a number of portraits which possess an undeniable balance and are always remarkably expressive.

This is why discovering her landscapes with their genuine purity and interesting poetic fluidity cannot fail to convince the onlooker, while her desire to create more abstract works is surprising in her use of lively colours and in her search for an inner feeling bursting with impetus, dreams, energy, and underlying evocations of the finest taste.

Yet, when she undertakes figurative work, Agnès DU MONT ANIS appears perfectly at ease painting the animal world, stylishly combining the realistic quality with her keen sense of composition, whether the subject is a lively farmyard or the noble scene of birds taking flight. And yet she never forgets her profound and brilliant skill for representing the faces and postures of cats, dogs, horses, cattle, etc. In addition, let us not forget her innovation in feline 'art brut' (Raw Art) with the help of two of her pawed protégés, who are proving to be striking experts in the domain of animal movement.
